Margarete Santos

Margarete provides legal assistant support, clerical assistance on files and assists in the management of litigation files generally.
A resident of Toronto, Margarete’s interest in labour relations was nurtured by having close relatives who worked in the unionized construction industry and who valued the importance of worker’s rights and safety. She learned about union’s at home from early childhood.
Margarete attended Loretto College Secondary School and Windsor University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in International Relations, with a concentration in International Development.
During her undergraduate years, Margarete worked as a summer student in the legal department of a major Toronto trade union where she gained a practical understanding of the role of the Ontario Labour Relations Act and of the Labour Relations Board and where she was exposed to internal local union affairs and servicing issues.
Margarete is currently in the process of obtaining the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario - Law Clerks Certificate.
